Honoring What Is, Creating What Can Be
About Kenji Sugawara
Certified Rolfer® and Co-Founder of Sacred Spaces
Kenji values authentic relationships, serving those around him, and creating joy in life. After spending time in the health and fitness industry including physical therapy, chiropractic care, and athletic training/conditioning, he began to observe the specific strengths each field offered to wellness. Seeking a modality that integrated body and mind, Kenji decided to train at the Dr. Ida Rolf Institute in Boulder, Colorado and became a Certified Rolfing® Structural Integration manual therapist. Kenji believes in the power Rolfing brings to one’s life. “Not only do you experience a physical change in your structure which may lead to pain relief or more ease in the body, but when your body learns a new way to carry itself- your sense of who you are changes and every possibility becomes open to you again.”
In his free time, Kenji is a hobby board game enthusiast, avid volleyball player, and loves hiking and camping as forms of meditation. His favorite camping experience thus far has been in Rabbit Valley, Colorado due to the significant calm and spiritual energy he felt. With an open tent to see the stars above, he enjoyed board games with his wife, Tamami.
About Tamami Okano
Certified Reiki Practitioner, MA Holistic Leadership, and Co-Founder of Sacred Spaces
Tamami is committed to creating safe spaces for individuals to step into their potential to experience healing and transformation. With a background in psychology, philosophy, and systems thinking-holistic leadership, Tamami would like to create a holding space for her local community to experience personal transformation while also creating opportunities to gather and embrace the communities’ interconnectedness. “It is through developing a loving relationship with ourselves that we begin to see the humanity in others. This leads to a cyclical process where our community can begin to exist as a more peaceful, loving environment, which in turn supports more peaceful and loving people.” Currently offering her services as a certified Reiki practitioner, Tamami is passionate about all forms of alternative healing.
In her leisure time, Tamami enjoys developing personalized self-care days for herself and loved ones that will nourish mind, body, and spirit. Tamami is often reading three books at a time, always with a cup of herbal tea in hand.
About Kenji & Tamami
That’s right, we are a husband-wife duo! While Kenji’s background was primarily in the realm of physical health, I (Tamami) was studying and working in the mental health sphere. Our combined approach seeks to integrate all parts of the human being.
We hope that each time you come to Sacred Spaces, you feel more whole, more embodied, and even more aware of how powerful you are. Thank you for allowing us to be a part of your journey.
